Ben, The green color would allow decals to be a color other than white. Have you ever tried to print your own decals. You can use a lazer printer for black decals. A color printer for red or another color. I have used the Open Office draw program and the decal paper from Micro Mart with fair results. I really like your green LoCos.
Regards, John

Hey Ken, That looks fun. I need to get after my General again, so it's good to see your project and get some motivation. It really is one of my best running engines. The last time I messed with it, I took out the engineer I had in the cab and put in the cab weight. But, I've decided now I really like the looks of the engineer better and I don't have that General pulling enough cars that the weight made any difference. Anyway, keep the pictures coming. Thanks, Barry

I just noticed the tender trucks. Nice looking. What are they from? The green color you use on your equipment then, this is the PGW road color? I got to thinking that I don't believe I ever saw a photo of the finished caboose you were doing a couple months back.

Lookin' good. In the top photo, did you do something to make the tender sit closer to the locomotive?

Ken, nice engine!
I like the modification to the tender. Just picture yourself trying to fire from the tender in the "before" shot. It's a long way from the wood pile to the fire door.
The "after" shot is way more plausible.
I know, that's a fussy thing to get hung up on, but I've fired with wood and now I notice that sort of thing and it is just more realistic if you have less disbelief to suspend.
Carpe Manana!
