So far they raised around $700,000, then 3 days ago at 6:11 a.m. NS donted 1.5 million to the project. They still need more though. Their plan is to raise 5 million. Roughy 2.5 would be for the new 2 stall engine house which would be very public friendly, 1 million to keep its operation secure for years in case NS at any moment kills the steam program, the actual overhaul was to be under a million but most lied on the engine house. They announced a little while ago that the 611 would not move to the North Carolina Transportation museums site, where the restoration will be housed while the engineers build the new engine house is Roanoke. Meaning until they raise the full amount for 611s restoration and engine house, it won't turn a rod.
