Looks like we will all live to see this day! UP 4014 in Pomona has officially been acquired by Union Pacific, and will be brought to their shops in Cheyenne, and restored to operation!

She is scheduled to leave after September. I live about 2 hours out of Pomona and will document its move out when time comes. I regularly email the museums director about 4014 so he'll give me the insight when the move will happen.

I'm curious. How are they planning to get it onto Metrolink? Are they cutting the mainline?

It was actually the cylinder casting bolts breaking apart on 5021.
I'll probably be out again tomorrow to go capture more movement. I'm not entirely sure, however I believe the plan is to have track go up to the Metrolink Subdivision so 4014 can be pulled onto it. That won't be till mid December.
The 4014 is almost next to the Metrolink tracks as of now.
