I don't know about you fellows but I have on occasion gotten something where the plastic windows were scratched or hazed up. While at my local auto parts store buying baling wire and bubble gum to keep my car running through the winter, I happened to spot a headlight restoration kit. I thought " headlight - plastic, hmm." After testing it out on a cab window, I found it realy works, restored to clear again. has anyone ever tried this?

I haven't seen the stuff you're talking about, but I had a fogged up headlight lens and, figuring that plexiglass is acrylic, I painted it with acrylic gloss medium. It worked somewhat well. I've since found out that Future floor wax is acrylic gloss medium, so I'll probably price that if I run out of the stuff in the little model paint bottle.
Is the kit you mentioned a coating or a polish to buff out the scratches?

| it is a coating. it came with veryfine sand paper for a wet sanding, then a wipe on cleaner and a wipe on finish coat containing texanol, glycol ether dm, and glycol ether dpnb. it is made by ashland chemical and goes by the brand name of valvoline. I am sure there are other brands out there
