Ringing in the new month, I'll post my just-acquired Mantua Bell switcher, found it lurking in an Ebay lot, which I managed to acquire along with about 16 other engines for under $90. Sweet! I'm just off-hook about it! I'll be receiving a 2nd one from EM-1 soon, so I will have a pair to "switch" , heh heh! Don't hang up on me! I got the photo RIIIIIGHT here!

A funny thing would be to sound decoder this lil guy, then have a telephone ringer for a bell. Ah well, enough corny phone puns. Enjoy! Call ya later...

If you included too many puns, we would have already "called" you out.

Newest engine to my collection, Mantua 90's redbox ATSF 0-4-0 shifter. Always wanted one of these! The headlight placement, working tender light, incredible detail, everything. Got it via trade deal from our boy Thomas (Redwoods). One of my favorites!

Quite the contrast in loco sizes this week.
Here is my Tyco GE switcher. I don't think I can top AMC's pun-run, so I'll just post the picture.

Thanks! There's not a whole lot of scenery visible in your picture with that massive B-unit (it looks awesome by the way!), but what I can see looks good. Your ballast work is very clean.

No DD40 Bees just DD35 Bees. The origanal plan was to have the DDs paired with 1 or 2 GP35s. UP wanted cabs added.

Okay, I might be a tiny bit jealous. (But my not having a T-1 is not entirely true, I have a READING T-1 4-8-4 but that's a totally different beast.)

Got this at a train show Sunday:
Life-Like "Bluebonnet" Santa Fe F7 diesel locomotive. It actually runs pretty well for a lower-end locomotive! I do hope to someday get an Athearn model, or a Proto 1000 Santa Fe F3A, for a more powerful version.

Adams ; Ken also helped me acquire some very nice British Models. We had some large heavy boxes going between London and New Jersey. Some of the smaller ones also had some weight. Thanks again Ken ! Oh Adam the Pennsylvania Great Western Railway is always looking to expand. I am sure branch manager Catfordken may feel the same. Recently his branch has acquired many more pieces of railway equipment for his branch of the PGW. Yep! lots of neat stuff. Toptrain. PGW Superintendent of Rails, Frankford Branch.

Adam there is always some rebuilding, and refinishing of locomotives, going on at the Catford Branch. Here at Frankford Roundhouse we also have been busy. Working conditions have improved since the summer has ended, and the Attic location become more accessible due to temperate seasonal weather. The little people at the roundhouse have gotten busy again with there repairs. Traffic on the PGW has almost returned to past volumes. After many and long meetings a program of kit-bashing the CNJ type camelback consolidations should restart soon. The I5 class is awaiting completion of the I4 to a reverently equal state of condition so both will go to the paint shop together. Discussions are ongoing on the I4 cab following the rebuilding of its Wooten firebox. A collapse of the top of the boiler during installation of the air tanks caused the removal of the firebox mounted walkways and the rebuild of the firebox. The craftsmen, and I say that lightly, just cant seem to get the cab and walkways right. I am certain that once this is done the detailing will be completed and both the I5 and I4 gotten back in service. Toptrain.

My LOTW:
A super rare Walthers 4-6-4 Brass HO Baltic
It's not complete, but being that it is extremely rare, I don't really mind.

It is my understanding that this is the very first production HO locomotive kit. ~1937-1938
My limited knowledge of this locomotive comes from the VintageHO and Yardbirdtrains Yahoo group emails.
"The 1938 catalog adds some information on the 2 rail and 3 rail versions. "When supplied for two rail operation, the wheels are insulated by a special process developed by ourselves" but does not specifically identify the process. However, under the heading that appears lower on the 1938 catalog page titled "Conversion Kit for HO Baltic Locomotives" it lists a kit which included a set of insulated wheelsets for pilot, trailing and tender trucks as well as the drivers, and states the wheels are insulated on one side and at the axle."

Hello All, This is an old Bowser cast brass loco. I bought it a bit rough with no tender. I went through it, painted it, and added a newer Bowser cast white metal tender. Looks and runs great now-- just needs details and lettering.
