One of these would make an interesting project. I found this while looking for the GE industrial locomotive pictures that Ford once used in Detroit.

FORD had, back in the day, FM H-12- 44 that were of a Lowery type, but with one difference, they had large automotive front grills. frank

Ford had 8 of these, built by GE from 1937 to 1940. Auto-like grilles and lots of chrome trim.

Ken, That's confusing......#2, is that a Shay, or a Heisler ? Its difficult to tell it has that Shay cylinder bank area, BUT it looks to be "center driven" without the "V" cylinder set up. AND the trucks, look at those!!!!! fully covered from the elements......INTERESTING loco!

Definitely a Shay. Note the boiler offset on the side towards you. That counterbalances the cylinders on the other side. I don't know the purpose of the shields on the trucks. The drive shaft is on the far side, but because of the lack of depth perception in the picture, that's hard to tell.
