Greetings everyone:
Guess before I post anymore picture's I should tell ya a little bout myself.
I have been modeling HO for the past 25 years or so,what started out as a gift and 1 sheet of plywood and a couple of 2x4"s has now amassed into a 6' x 30' layout.
4 tear down's and 1 flood later{tropical storm Lee} I do believe that everything is set.
As my avatar says I'm a Pennsy guy.
I am modeling from the late 60's,I have both modem's of power, steam and diesel,I tend to model more of an urban setting.I just started after 25 years to try my hand at kit bashing and find it rather rewarding,as you all saw from my first post on BOTW thread.
As for my other life,I'm a miner,underground...Heavy Equipment Operator, and no it's not coal,God bless those guys who do it for a living,I'm in a limestone mine been there for 15 years have 3 1/2 more to go till I get my Micky D's card for burger discount's
I am married to my best friend we have 4 great kid's all married, thank God and out of the house...lol and 4 grandchildren, also in a former life I was a volunteer fireman here in the city for 28 years, had to give it up,the old knee's just wouldn't take it anymore.
My other hobbies include brewing beer, and BBQ'ing the real deal though not on a grill, but either my pit or the smoker, and I like to tinker around with building furniture when time permit's.Well that about wraps it up for a quick look on who you just let in the site.
Hope this intro finds everyone well and in good spirits.
Mike

I don't always model,but when I do it's in HO,
Stay enthused my friend's...

Same here, Mike - Welcome! In the late'60's, I was a brakeman on Santa Fe, staying at the old Motor World in Chicago, watching Jo Ann Castle beat the ivories on Lawrence Welk, and dreaming of model railroad layouts that were mostly dreams. None of them ever got built. In late 1969, I was promoted to conductor and force assigned to a 16-hour a day local in Joliet, IL, with no chance of escape. No need to tell you what that did to any model railroad activity. I guess I'm on this list to try to make up my lost, not necessarily misspent, youth. Anyway, Welcome. If they'll let me on this board, anybody can make it

Welcome aboard Mike. We are almost always in good spirits here, especially when we are talking about trains. I like urban settings too and look forward to seeing more of your work.

Tim,
Welcome aboard. Lot of great people on this forum. Just remember to work on your models before you drink your home brew, as it may improve the results.

Regards, John
