can anyone tell me which locomotives these motors belong to,or the period,top picture,top 2 are mantua,as is bottom left,no maker on bottom right,bottom picture reading left to right,first 3 are mantua,4th unknown,ken

Ken, that motor on the right/bottom looks to be of AHM or Tempo design. The brush mounting gives it away. Probably a steam engine, but to what, I don't know. But having worked on enough motors now, that design seems to be of Tempo origin to me.

EDIT: I think, MAYBE, those 2 I have marked "Varney?" could be OLD Mantua.....Back in the days of brass Mantua, but again, I'm unsure of it!

Bottom right motor could also be MDC-Roundhouse. My 50's all metal 0-6-0 had that same motor.

The one on the lower right looks like a Pitman DC-60 to me. I don't know in what model it might have served.
