Wasn't sure I'd make it to the train store today with my wife doing a craft show, and trying to get rid of a non-running van, but the guy got the van Friday night, I got the wife set up by 8 am, so I was able to make my 2nd job without any difficulty.

Worked on some HO equipment today, then cleaned up some Lionel O gauge , used, for reselling. Had a broken Bronx Zoo giraffe car for $6, and a cool 3530 Generator car, spinning part didn't function, but the rest of the car did. Not sure what he's asking for that.

Then the boss got busy tossing stuff out, and I organized all the loose HO stuff into Dell accessory boxes for neatness. Looking through the 2nd can of trash he created, I found an almost-new 260 watt soldering iron, so I took it out of the trash can and opened it up. not one, but BOTH wires to the lights from the huge coil were NOT soldered ( from the factory like this ), They also crossed over, so they were the power wires as well. I took the small soldering iron and fixed it, and put it back together. Had it smokin' hot in about 10 minutes. Lights didn't come on still, not sure about that circuit, but it would heat up and melt solder now! Asked the boss what was wrong with it, he said he'd had it 3 years and it never worked. Good thing he's got ME working there now. Sheesh. I told him give me anything you have that's not working and I will try to fix it, tools included. I got some nice used stuff today as a bonus, he had some American Flyer HO accessories, an Airport keg loading conveyer, an Ideal Radio tower, and an AF coal station. I also picked out a Lionel HO engine missing a truck cover and axles ( diesel ), and a couple acting dumping cars as well, plus a Gilbert power truck for a diesel. So I got lots of good stuff today he didn't want ( He's a diehard O-gauger, HO doesn't mean that much to him ). While I"m not making much money here ( actually, $0 since I've been working there, taking stuff in trade, oh boy! ), I'm having a great time. Looks like I may be busy at Christmas time, will probably work some late evenings when things are busy.

Will post some of the stuff in the OTW's tomorrow. Now to go pick up the wife at the craft show.
