Just joined. My interest in Tyco is the operating hopper car. I've been trying to collect the vairous editions of them. I've collected the single cars, the variations on the single cars, the loader sets in the red box and sets in the brown box.
One bonus I found when I joined here is the Marx forum .... Marx is my main collection. I've loved Marx for a long time and was disappointed when it came to finding info on the Marx cars. So I started a Marx info site: www.marx-trains.com. I read through the Marx forum on this site and have some answers to questions posted there. I'll post as i can.

I have had published over the years many layout plans. I always design them for opertion, then describe how to do it in the accompanying text. I've always felt that a layout using basic Marx 4-wheel tinplate equipment could be more realistic on a layout built for operation than the latest high-cost DCC-smoke and Choo-choo acquisition from the Chinese forced labor camps
I just looked at your web site - nice.

I'll have to look, I think I''ve got an extra one, but not sure if it's complete. Give me a couple of days. My 'For Sale" stuff is at my model railroad club. Steve

I do have a New York Central Marx caboose on display in my room. She's a beauty.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."
