| I'll be looking forward to seeing photos of this as it progresses Ken. Do you find that these locos with the brass and/or other metal gears are always noisy, or have you been able to work with them and get them running smoothly and quietly?

hi barry getting them to run is fairly easy hardest part is to lower the noise level of motor, would change the motor, but these 3 mantuas are being done more as preservation, rather than running full time,so as long as i can complete em,that will be pretty much it for these, ken regards brass locos in general its those old open frames that are the problem, with cam motors you can quieten them down a lot

| Well those pieces look nice and clean sitting there ready to go. I need to get off my butt and get trial #4 going on that crosshead guide yoke. Seems you can maybe find the part if you buy a whole other locomotive (that maybe is missing something different!), but, man, I really don't want to have a junk pile of 4 locomotives missing parts just to complete one; not to mention the expense. Good to see your update on that project.
