I am in agreement with Ken, while these are absolutely stunning and vibrant looking locomotives, their age really prevents them from being of any use in my current scale running or collecting criteria, just too modern to fit in with my passions. I'm sure they're not cheap, either, so that would tie up funds for other stuff I want. Love the engine and your post, too bad I'm just not into modern diesels at all right now.

I love them, but they are too expensive and there too many of them, I would want them all. Nice loco tho! How did you break the coupler?

Thanks for all the replies guys. It is actually too modern for my layout as well. I model the 1940's and have mostly steam on the layout. This is pretty much an expensive wall hanger. The coupler actually was broke when i took it out of the box.

The way I think of these Heritage Locos is a "What if they still existed today?" kind of thing
I has seen a pic of a HO Milwaukee Road in a new loco
Plus someone is doing their version of BNSF Heritage Locos in HO

I'd sooner paint my own Lehigh Valley, as to this day I don't understand why they couldn't scale up the lettering artwork from a $5 sheet of Microscale decals to get it right.

I feel the same way kind of. I do like modern diesels but I don't like them as much as steam engines. Steam engines are my favorite type of locomotives because they just look cool.

I've caught two... the PRR one only 2 days after it was unveiled, and the Central of Georgia around Horseshoe curve. Got that one on video. Oh how I wish I had caught the pennsy one there instead!

I met a fellow from the local N-Trak who's completely obsessed with these units... he spent all his money on N-scale versions of all of them, and whenever he was off for work for months, he went out and tracked down all 20 real ones with a scanner. Now that's devotion
