Andy, you can't upload directly to the forums, I'm almost sure of that, but you need to have the pictures "hosted" by an online site, such as www.photobucket.com and then post pictures in the "[ i m g ]" brackets, without the spaces, add the URL of the picture from the hosting site, after the last racket, and then follow that by [ / i m g ] Again, with no spaces, and this will put your picture into a posting you have made....
Without me adding the spaces between key strokes, it would disappear and you wouldn't see it. once I make this a posting by hitting "Submit Reply" button.
Hope this helps
~John

If you go back and edit your original post in this thread, you can correct the title.
You can upload directly to the forums by using the "Camera" icon on the "Post Reply" page. It's at the end of the second row of buttons in the section above the text entry window labeled "Format". Your image files can't be too big and you gotta watch what characters you use in the image file name.

Glenn, I'm glad to know that but I host all of my own so....I'd flood this forum, otherwise!
I would almost bet, I can count too 3,000 with train pictures! If not, more then that!

Andy, I don't think you have to have a "number" of posts to post with pictures embedded into it......I'm not certain of that but I don't think its part of the criteria!

Actually it is, John. You need at least 10 posts before you can put pictures in the posts. At least that's the way I remember it, so that spammers can't start automatically dumping photos onto this site. No spammer will be that patient, but it's a small enough amount of posts that anyone who loves trains will live with it. :)

I found that I had to name the photo I couldn't use the number that the camera or computer assigns when the photo is down loaded from the camera to the computer. Andy

According to the forum's uploading "wizard", you can use letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores in file names. But hey, as long as you can find a filename that works, that's all that matters!

| Hey Andy, That's a real nice set you got there. I'm looking forward to seeing more photos. That photo manipulation and uploading can be trying. Regards, Barry
