Problem weith Double Decker cars in UK & EU is the clearances of tunnels & bridges

But thats cool tho & a interesting car too

hi ben, these cars ran all over the south east of england no probs,as these are same height as standard cars, plus most of our tunnels were enlarged for the container trains, and germany and a few others run double deckers today, ken

hi ben, there are always solutions to problem, its whether they think its viable, and in britain they decided that it was not worth going that route, but it seems they are re thinking after 50 odd years if its viable today, ken

Here in the N.E US CSX is currently raising every bridge between ALBANY NY and BOSTON MASS. for what has been rumored to be tri-stack cars. the cost so far is about 100 million and counting. They have not even started on the HOOSAC tunnel in N.ADAMS as the haven't figured out whether to raise the roof or lower the floor yet. either way it will cut one of their busiest mainlines for up to 2-3 yrs and still no price tag on that project
