another junkbox find, while table-diving, this Conrail caboose is by Bowser, I don't have much of anything by Bowser, looks to be in good shape, and I have a few Conrail items, so....it found a new home for $3.

Jerry, I almost bought that! I had it out on the table and was about to pay for it until I saw the broken steps. I think we had the same dealer here at the Greenberg show in NJ, who was selling everything for $3 from a box under the table. I ended up getting a GI Joe Plymouth and a Tyco NH B unit for $5 instead.

Yes, I saw the other GI Joe pieces ( Gon, tanker , caboose ) in rather decrepit shape, so I passed on those, but I would have bought them otherwise. I can live with the broken steps, and fix them later. Just don't see many Conrail cabooses, really. Did the guy have his wife helping him? This is the guy(and lady) I bought the Tenshodo UP brass diesel from, for $8. Other stuff I bought from him was a Tootsieroll tanker, a B&O 0-4-0, a bunch of rolling stock from the box under the table, the Tyco GT 4301, etc. I came back as the show was closing and bought a Tempo BL-2 FEC from them as well. I was happy to trade my dollars for their stuff. Not overpriced.

I have no doubt you'll have willing buyers if you chose to part with this piece, it's a hard one to find. I like it myself. Let us know if you decide you want to part with it.

That was the couple! The GI Joe loco had no defects except a missing horn, so I may paint it over. No steals like that Tenshodo diesel that I found (wow!), but their prices were refreshingly reasonable. They some more interested in moving stuff, rather than dragging it from show to show. There a re a lot of dealers who could learn something from them.
Those Bowsers are nice PRR prototype cabeese, and I was going to buy it in spite of the CR livery, but seeing the missing steps killed it for me. Just as well, since now you get to enjoy it.

Part of the operating crane loader as found in the Golden Eagle set. The stakebed truck you posted in AOTW is probably from the same set.

Speaking of GI Joe and trains.....I THINK I might have the GI Joe, tanker, was the "tank" all green with no lettering? Or if I don't have the GI Joe tanker, who made a Military green tanker, with no lettering on it? and for what set?

Mike, Nice! I think, I have that same caboose too, I love the paint job Bachmann used as its one, (paint scheme) not often seen on models and I believe is the only time that paint scheme was used!

Hi All,
Great stuff this week.
This is mine in keeping with the caboose theme. It is a Bachmann from one of the "Diesel Express" sets.
Thanks for sharing.

Well, my COTW.....

A caboose of sorts to keep up the caboose theme.....
EDIT:
Forgot to mention, this was picked up at the train show just over a week ago.....$1.00 and I thought for a complete TYCO wasn't bad! Only part missing, is the coupler box cover under the car end, and that's something I have! (Probably won't get one anyway,) as it will end up with Kadee couplers, that were ment for narrow gauge, or logging, as they are smaller and look a bit more "correct" to the car type.
