Found this gem at the Greenberg train show in Chantilly on Saturday, in a box marked $8 each. Engines by Bachmann, Tyco, Hobbyline, Tenshodo...wait, aren't they a brass maker? I picked up this UP, and boy was it heavy! Yup, it's brass. I picked it, and the Hobbyline FA-1 engine chassis, also had a UP shell on it, but wasnt' held on by anything, so not sure how that will get fixed yet. Anyway, the Ten is missing part of the driveshaft, but that is probably fixable, having my first all-brass diesel find is awesome! Price was right, too. Here it is....

Oh, and Microbusss ? This is one UP you WON'T be getting, ever! LOL!

I can't get over that Tenshodo... what a steal. It definiteley wasn't in the seller's box when I was looking.
I love those Davenports. So the backup light was there, just no bulb? I had the choice of either a CR or NYC 90's issue MIB at a show last year for $30, but passed because there was something I wanted more.
Here's something I just won... a Rivarossi U25C that someone did a great job detailing, even adding grilles, speedometer cables, steps, and properly installing Kadees. The starting bid was $19.99, and in the last few seconds the first bidder started tossing in last minute panic bids. I put in a firm $30 in the last few seconds, convinced he'd outbid me, but I got it for $22.50 with free shipping. Totally worth it given the work invested. Depending on how much expansion there is in the fuel tank casting, I'll either repair or replace it.

Hi Ken,
It's zinc pest, and is pretty common in these U25C's. I can fill and file it if it's not too distorted, but even if I have to replace it it's still a bargain.

Hyde, ever get that cab built on the rear of it?
I have found 2 smaller doors that will be ideal for the rear door. One will be used but if I mess up the first one I have an exact spare so I haven't the need to worry. But no I haven't built the door just yet. Haven't had a pressing need to do so. Will someday.

Nelson, NICE catch! I want to take a U25C and make it into a 25B model.....reason I'm after that spare shell you have! I got plenty of frames to work with to make that happen! You won that U25C from Methuen Mass......Was real close to me if that's the case.....'bout an hour drive!
Ben, NO I didn't see the number, till you mentioned it, 844, you finally found one! Question, Bachmann Spectrum? Looks like it but, the Proto-2000 units have a finer casting of detail parts for the wind shield wipers.....Good to see you found one! Meaning, I can stop looking for a GP30 now?
