Guys, check this out! The roundhouse must have been built with a VERY TIGHT radius front wall to need that many tracks "overlapping" YES! OVERLAPPING each other in the space from the turntable to the roundhouse!

A very short turntable, as that one appears to be, could necessitate overlapping tracks, or a very large roundhouse with a large number of stalls (and a large radius front wall). A very tight radius front wall would actually move the tracks further apart.

That is a 4-10-0 on the turntable. Gobernador is a province in Spain, and a name for a 4-10-0 engine. The Central Pacific had the only North American example.

Glenn, Now, wouldn't the roundhouse front wall being more curved (tight radius) would make the need for more tracks as that turn table is around 70 feet in length.....So, with a tight radius front wall on the roundhouse, and ALOT of stalls all together, would create the need for the cross over type tracks between the turntable and roundhouse.....
Spacing I do believe would need to be adjusted, spacing being, the distance from the turntable, to the roundhouse.....Either way, its an odd one!
That's A LOT going on, between a turntable and a roundhouse, need-less-to-say!!!!!

Better, Nickle Plate?

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

John, Let's assume we have a half-circle roundhouse, and that that fact never changes. The tighter the radius of the front wall, the closer it would have to be to the turntable, and thus the shorter it would have to be, and the shorter it is, the fewer stalls it could contain, so fewer tracks running to the turntable from that half-circle roundhouse, so they will be spaced further apart around that half-circle. An illustration would help, but I don't have access to any such software at the moment. To get a larger number of tracks within that half-circle, we have to make the front wall longer to accommodate more stall doors, and to make it longer we have to move it away from the turntale, thus increasing it's radius.
That's probably as clear as mud!
