I just want to say hello. I recently got my old childhood train set out and now I am interested again in this hobby. My set is a 1976 Durango with the floodlight car. I found out from the Tyco Trains Resource site that this set was offered in 1976 and '77, but the floodlight car was replaced in 1977 with a caboose. One thing that I noticed from the pictures of the Durango from that same site is that the Durango engine for 1976 had red lettering and red numbers, and that the 1977 models had white letters and numbers. My engine has white letters and numbers, but has the floodlight car which kind of confuses me. I got this set new (Christmas '76 I think) so I just wonder if by the time I got my set, Tyco had already began making changes in the set but had not changed the caboose yet?
The Durango floodlight car also seems to be rare, being that it was only available with this set and was not sold seperately.
I am happy that I have found this site, good to be here, hopefully soon my set will be up and running again!
