A Tyco ICG C630 that I bought for $5.99. It was in the original box and had hand railings! It wasn't until I got home that I even noticed the entire power truck was missing. Sam

My, I'm "green" with envy of the current postings. SO I'll post something green. My BN U28-30-33 EMD by Athearn, not sure which it is, will have to look at the sheet inside the box more carefully. Anyway, need to DCC this nice one, will pull it upstairs so I can find it easier next time I want to pull a BN consist at shows.

General Electric U28B (or, late U25B upgraded to 2800HP) whence U28B... Your BN consist needs to be shiny green, white... or a mix, still of GN, NP, CBQ, SPS... The U28's were created as of 1966... Burlington Northern was created March 1970...
What's your era flavor/flavour?
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

* A Mantua pacific I have done for the CNJ. I replaced the original cab with a spare I had from a old Cast and Brass Mantua Pacific. Gives the engine a notched cab with the correct window. Also used the old all metal tender.

Well to keep up with Sean here.......I'll post a Bachmann E60CF......in Chessie (to keep the "road" going from the first posting of a GP30 in CSX!

Not a bad unit.....I have been looking for it in Chessie System for awhile just because... (The actual railroad, NEVER had them), BUT makes for an interesting looking loco in the Chessie colors, and a talkative piece, none-the-less!
This, like my COTW, is also a "Get Well" gift.......Which was nice! A friend picked it up from a show, just before my surgery, and I got it the day I returned home, from my surgery.....Recently got to looking at it, and realized it has 2 powered trucks, under it, when it should only have one! AND it pulls to show for it......After-all, it is the freight version of the E60 right?

Thanks guys! I had to post that E60CF......It was something I remember seeing at the second to last train show, that was BEFORE my surgery........I was going to buy it then, and when I made my second 'round....it was gone, so I thought I lost it.......... Needless to say, I have to give credit where its due, the president of my local train club, "Concord Model Railroad Club" Gary, bought it, for I'm not sure how much......(He caught me looking at it, as I had picked it up as he told me he "seen me do" so......The second day home from the hospital, he presented me with it.......Needless, to say, (I'm not sure if I had ever mentioned it here, but I'm the Vice-President of the same club!) So.....They, the membership were quite concerned of my recovery......THEN, the President, had offered to give me rides to and from the club, every Thursday evening till I was able to drive once again, as the open heart surgery kept me from driving for a month after my release back home....Last Friday, I was re-instated my driving privilege by my Surgeon......And I'm now able to lift 20 pounds..... BEFORE that was nothing but "light" feather work!
But anyway, I got a lot of nice "Get Well gifts" as you'll see and I'll be giving credit where they are due from those that presented them to me on my recovery!

Hey Frank, Just a quick question, where's a good place/manufacture to find a cab to have that side window arrangement? I need that type cab window for my old Maud project! BUT, I don't need that side "step" as Reading had for the wide bottom firebox that their cabs had!
Any idea?

**John that cab was one I found in a parts box I got from someone, or a train show. I did that a while back. Dont remember exactly where I got it. * Like you I have been making my own cab wall sides for new projects out of styrene plastic. I need to learn casting so I could copy good ones I have made already. frank

Well, my current time periods of interest is from the late '50's to late '70's, since I want to run Tri-level open auto racks with AMC Gremlins and Pacers on them, I have pictures of open auto racks with Pacers, so that is at least '75 onward. I'm not really into the modern era of trains much. Lots going on in that time period, so I have lots of variety. :) Bl-2's were still running into the late '60's as well. I have a nice collection of green BN rolling stock, some red ( when was that era? I have the Mantua diesel, CB&Q in red, in addition to some rolling stock )

Hyde, OHH NO.....NOT "Were" I AM going to do a "Maud Project!" You kidding me? "Old Maud" is the USA's OLDEST Articulated steam locomotive, ALCO build "Schenectady" 1904 (was the WORLD's strongest loco in 1904!)......... then to add to it, what railroad owned it? (Ask yourself a question, son, what railroad do I MODEL!?)
You'll all see pictures when I get to that point, I just have to locate some Cylinders for the machine......(This is why I'm looking for all the "slide valve" cylinders, by Mantua!) I have 4 of the Mantua 2-6-6-2's and not one of them, has slide valve cylinders in the front, and one of tem, is going to need both sets slide valve cylinders, as I have planned to make at least one of them, Western Maryland prototype M-1a!
