Like many others I am not sure how I came upon this forum, but I am certainly glad I did. A little about me, what little there is. I am a 70 yr young retired engineer and have been in and out of model trains most of my life. retirement has opened a whole new world to my interest ( to say nothing of E-BAY ) The posts on remotoring and putting DCC on power tourqe motors has really got my interest, since I recntly got a batch of chattanogas for parts and restore. I primarily deal with steam ( ho)and love the old cast mantuas as well as AHM/RIVARROSI, varney, bachman and my most recent find a john english engine from 1950. most of these I restore for resale ( err if I can force myself to part with them! ) My goal is to remotorthem with can motors and DCC with sound ( all 26 of them!!!) From what I have read I know ther is a lot of help out there. looking forward to hearing from you, especialy from w. mass

Welcome, Leo. Improving the old stuff can be a lot of fun, and a lot of us here like to at least attempt it, as you've already seen. I know how you feel about not wanting to part with your projects, though.

Hello Leo!

Welcome aboard!

What roadname do you prefer to collect/run? I myself like New Haven and some B&M. Been buying a lot of the latter here lately. You have almost 28 years on me, but I like pretty much the same stuff you do and tend to fill my collection coffers with all the old Mantua and Varney diecast locomotives. If you got any pictures of your collection.. I'd sure love to see them too! Nothing better than looking into someone else's collection to see what they have.
