Found this on a floor plat of the vendor I bought quite a bit from. When I saw the GE motor in it, I thought it might be the E33 rectifier chassis. Pretty bare, it still has gears, so it might be returned to service easier, once I find - axles/trucks, body shell, etc. One thing at a time. AT least I have a starting point, I have yet to run across a Rectifier for sale at any of the shows I've been to lately. paid $10 for this one.

* It is a GP7 or 9 drive. You can tell by the gas and air tanks on its bottom. It only powers one truck. It should fit a rectifier but so does a Athearn GP9 drive which is better.

That's an early '70s drive for the GP9 or U18B. Trucks on those are nearly impossible to take apart without snapping the tabs that hold the base/sideframe unit off one side or the other.

I think the chassis was made for them by Roco, since it's similar in design to the diesels they made for Model Power. Interesting that Lionel used actual GE motors. I've heard that they used them in early 90's Flyonel S scale PA's as well.

I have a number of those motors, and they are surprisingly noisy and run fairly hot... so much for bringing good things to life.
