i have been watching this series,and would most definetly recommend it,as the first three are all based around the railways, Vanderbilt, Carnegie and Rockefeller,great insight into what made the early days exciting for the railroads ken history channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Gq-eKO6SQ

I saw it last year, too. A good series, but heavily padded with continual repetition after the commercial breaks.

| it also shows uk trains in its footage,but the links between the different men are a good source for me who wants to get the gist of us railroads etc ken

I noticed the predominance of UK steam as well. I think it was at least in part a British production.

| Might be entertaining to those who didn't know about the subject, but I for one, found it boring and over dramatized. Best thing to do, read a book.
