Is it possible to remove the road number boards and headlight lens without damaging the shell? If so, how?
Thanks ~ Dave

They will basically just pop out. I have never had any problem removing them with only a small flat screw driver and no damage to the shell.

These are pretty stubborn. Where do you push, pull and/or pry from?

In working on old hood units, where I want to pop out the number boards, for the number boards, I (ahem) try to see if they are glued in- if CA was used, it is often best to try to push them in from the front with a wood popsicle stick or other no-scratching tool. The CA might just give way (it has no real strength against force). If styrene cement was used, well, an xacto knife might loosen the bond around the number boards before applying pressure. If that testors canopy (clear) glue was used instead of regular styrene cement, then it is easier to do.
Most of the old ones I get from the swap meets are susceptible to either of these methods.

I ended up pushing them out from the back with a thin piece of hickory. Looks like CA glue and it cleaned up pretty easy.
Thank you!
