It's not hard to notice that there is a breakdown in the forum lately. People posting things in the wrong places, last week two Lotw posts, posting scales other than HO and things other than trains. Isn't "Loose Ends" the catch-all for those things? Maybe others believe forum ettiquette is being abused. I enjoy other trains and try to be positive about contributors posts but some of the things I've mentioned belong where they are as much as my new HD TV does.

I think any scale train can be posted in the 'OTW. I thinks it's a bit of annoyance when people go into the LOTW to show off a newly bought item or post a wanted ad for a easily found item. I only shared a slot car on the COTW once as a joke.

| I sort of agree with you because there are a lot of things that annoy me, but it's not my place to correct anyone about their posts. At the bottom of every post there a little sign that has "Alert Moderator" that can be clicked. Besides, there are a lot of people new to the forum who truly may not know better, we can't fault them for not knowing. If I'm not mistaken, it is not broken down how to post into certain topics once you join. If it's that big of a problem, maybe the moderator should be more diligent in deleting posts that don't belong in a certain topic, or If you catch a topic that is posted where it does not belong then send the a PM and explain it to them.

When was it etiquette to post only HO in the OTW forums? Never heard that ever mentioned. Since this is the Tyco Forum, you'd think we could only post Tyco and Mantua related items at that rate. :) Anyway, I try to keep it to HO, but sometimes it's fun to post others as well.

| Just a Reminder about the forum - It was started with the main interest being Tyco - hence the name. While we can only post so many times about Tyco - All other HO scale trains can be discussed and are welcome under the appropriate topic heading and if no topic heading -post in loose end or other HO trains topic. If it is O scale - N scale G scale or any other than HO - they are welcome too but not in HO topic headers - post topics about those in loose ends. I would say if you are wanting a special topic header just for those - probably isn't going to happen on this forum as it is HO based and no other gauge even though they are discussed but not the main stay - there are forums just for those gauges and i bet if you posted Tyco on a Lionel forum or any other - you would be scolded or banned. Fell free to post topics of those scales in loose ends as that's what its for -

I remember when the Big Cat (CATFORDKEN) brought this up once before and those who answered up did not mind members posting other than HO on the OTW postings. I think it was because he said he was limited on TYCO since he lives in England (I think). I may be mistaken, but I though everyone said it was OK. Yea, sometimes it's annoying but if it keeps the forum interesting, who cares. I would rather read about an "O" gauge train than some of the other nonsense that is posted on here sometimes. Who administers this site and what do they have to say?

I was the worst at posting in the wrong threads when I started on the forum.. Over time I've notice many things posted in the wrong place, and many scales that I don't collect. However, there's many different interests on the forum and it's all for fun and entertainment... So I am one who will not complain over what gets posted or where...

Todd, "NYC" Owns and Admins the site. He's rarely here but since it supposed to be adults only that shouldn't be a problem, right?
A lot of people like structure it makes them feel better, that things are more consistant. There's an element of security in that for some. Conversly there is free open dialogue which is more challenging but provides a broader picture.
People will settle in with time and get a better sense of things. Often when people jump on error's of new members however innocent they may be, it discourages partipation.
Just my thoughts, your mileage and experience may vary.

It's always been understood the Lotw is for HO. As Brian says this is the Tyco forum. There is "Loose Ends" for something that is other than HO. The forum has broadened a bit that's OK to include areas for other manufactures. Obviously no one would post Lionel O gauge in Tyco motive power unless for a comparison, etc. Why would anyone logically post anything but HO in a forum that is HO. Just trying to make a point of order and nothing else.
