Downsizing my selection a bit, I chose an N gauge Euro shunter as my LOTW this week. I'm rather partial to diesel shunters now, so I pick them up when I can.

My newest arrival. Got it 2 weeks ago as a gift. Roundhouse 4-4-2 kit! Was about 85% assembled in 3 days! Just the other day i flared the pins that hold the crosshead onto the main rod so now she's operational! Found out the barely started kit when i got it lacked the big ends and or eccentric rods... So I'll have to buy some off someone before I can install her valve gear but on the bright side she's basically fully complete!

Yes it does. I have track for it, now I need to get a 100 watt or more transformer to run it. It was a Valentine's Day gift from the Mrs.

These are a pair of F7 Athearn Blue-box locomotives, which I got for $10 at the Amherst show. I really just wanted the A for its drive mechanism, but the shell is nice, and the seller threw in the B shell with it. The B has no chasis, but I could use a rubber-band drive chasis as a dummy for it, or maybe I"ll raid the flea market when the weather gets better.
There's just something really nice about this locomotive. The paint scheme is neat, Athearn painted it well, and I"m fond of the way these babies run. Nothing like a good American-made Athearn.
Um, these would be American made, right?

Mine I got off Eaglerock109. This Santa Fe 2-8-2. This thing runs great and has plenty of pulling power. My son was very excited to see it arrive. Giving credit to eaglerock109 for borrowing his photo as I am at a loss at where my camera is.

Had a 77 pinto station wagon once,it was same bright orange. Always got looked at everywhere I went. Im looking forward to see your loco completed.

Thanks Royal! I love the color although most don't. Being I dont have the big ends I cant put the valve gear together for a while, so she'll stay a main rod only engine for now, other work that has been completed since then is the adding of the pilot beam handrail, repainted the numberboards black, and will be doing adjustments on the cylinders soon.
