I'd like to see everyone's before and afters of current projects, old projects or new projects. The before photo being the way it looked when you got it and then the look after you got it. Restorations, kitbashes, rebuilds, customizations etc. Anything at all. I'll be adding to this periodically

notice how there is only 1 arm bracket that would hold the step on the "right" You'll see why below

Varney 0-4-0 given to me via trade deal

so remember how one of the arms that held the missing step was missing? I made my own 2nd arm!! Pretty impressive for a 16 year old

also made new steps for the boiler shell

let my favorite color go all over this varney 0-4-0

it's done with the exception of the motor being reinstalled. Frame was painted, running gear cleaned, all that good stuff

mantua 0-4-0 booster, being restored for a friend

torn down to the frame, painted, cleaned, oiled, all in 2 days!!

I buy, repair, and collect

Thanks Justin!
Ben, the varney docksider originated out of the collection of our own Sean Naylor. He gave it to my friend Matt who then sent it to me for a restoration and transformation to a UP switcher but after I helped him aquire a Rivarossi UP FEF he said I could keep it! So in 2 Days I rebuilt practically all of it! Still gotta solder the wire back onto the pick up plates then the motor can be reinstalled, completing the short restoration.
Jim, that would be a Walthers Machine Shop, formerly a kit. Built it originally just to house my beloved Roundhouse Circus 2-8-0 but then it turned into my repair shop, the Seybold Locomotive Works. Now inside that shop there are my all time favorite engines of mine, in that 13 inch shop there are 5 engines...no joke. I've added track on the floor of the shop just to keep my favorites all in one shop See the url below this that says Seyboldlocomotiveworks.weebly.com that's my website for it.

being my newly aquired 4-4-2 #6, the orange one is taking up the lead track of my shop being she was a kit and is nearly done being built my 2-8-0 that started this shop is sitting outside for now

speaking of the orange 4-4-2... I aquired the kit last friday and on the following sunday she's completed with the exception of the rods. Those are being put together and it should be done soon.
