Dusting off a classic, my Conrail GG1 I've had on display, missing one of the pantographs, haven't tried to run it yet, either. Hopefully this year I'll get more of my projects on the bench and fixed up.

Seriously, nice engine.

My unit is an old Mantua MU motor Alco C430 in the Bicentenial sceheme! 1 of 4 C430s my dad owned as a kid this one was the rebuold project one. In 2007 when I got all the engines from my dads collection I couldn't get it to run, mind you I was 10 years old at that time. Last year after a lot of wiring work it finally ran after more than 30 years!! However it still needed couplers and we all know that installing new couplers on the old mantua coupler mounts is not an easy task, but after a year of putting it off today I finally added the new couplers, put the fuel tank covers back on, thus completing the 430!! Very happy it's done!

I buy, repair, and collect http://scvr.weebly.com/ http://seyboldlocomotiveworks.weebly.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDeputation?feature=watch Hyde.

How does it run, Justin?
Nice F3, Mike. I love that CN scheme. Looks like your windshield glazing might be a little loose.

Yes the windshield is loose, I figured when I check under the hood for cleaning and lube I would put it back into place... It runs like new in a quick test! Got it at one of my favourite shows on Sunday, 140 tables...

Justin, if it has Japan printed by the couple box, it is likely a Silvine Line.

Here is what mine looks like with the original decals

Here's my latest purchase off of eBay. It was one of those auctions with pictures of only one side of the engine, virtually no description, and a 99c start bid. I took a shot a got lucky. It's a near mint Tyco F7 which to my surprise came with its original box
Here's a quick pic from the cell phone cam:
