I'm looking for the spring, brass collar, and screw to attach the front truck to a Mantua 4-6-2 Prarie stem locomotive. All 3 would be ideal but the spring is the most crucial. I think I can find a screw that will work aand I think I can get by without the collar. I would even be interested if the truck came with it.

You'll need a 2-56 screw. I use a brass tube or something for a collar.

I measured the screw on my Mantua and .345" is above the frame, so it's needs to be slightly longer to screw in the frame. My guess is that a standard length of 7/16" would do.
Have you tried Yardbird trains? That's where I got my pilot truck and hardware from.
I have an extra spring.

Hey forum folks, Just thought I'd say a word or two about davefromMD. I just sold him a spring for a Mantua steamer. Since he's kind of new to the forum, folks might be wondering about doing train business with him. Without being prompted by me; he offered to up the agreed selling price to cover the paypal fee (I forgot to include that) and the postage turned out to be more than I had estimated. Again, he voluntarily sent additional funds to my paypal account to cover the additional cost. Nice to do business with conscientious people.

Dave, have you gotten the screw and tubing that you need yet? I would be glad to cut you a piece of tubing and mail you a screw that will work. Randy
