Has anyone looked at the motors in the Austrian built F-9. They really look like a modern MU-2 motor, they have the same basic design? I would have liked to seen these in some other locos.

I have a couple of Tyco MDT switchers with that style motor. There was also a Hong Kong version of that motor design. It looks almost identicle but is slightly different. I posted photos in this thread. http://65.174.230.77/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=40

I just noticed that drive on an F7 at the haunt; I didn't bring it home with me. Am intending to get it for further review. It DID look an awful lot like an MU-2, with a plastic frame and trucks and PT-style mount.

The Austrian MU-2 clone, can we call it an MU-3. Motor variations:
Single Shaft Motor Motors used in Diecast Sharks MU-2 Power Torque, and all variations MU-3, Like MU-2 but Austrian produced Not sure of the Type used after Tyco outsourced the Centurys
A work in progress. [}:)]
