Going classic tinplate here, an auction picture I took of the set I bought, haven't retaken photos yet. Looks like a complete set, with transformer and track also purchased. Not my first O gauge Ives, but the first complete set, I think.

I don't believe so, Carl. I have Marx as well, and these are not the same, Marx tended to mark their cars with their symbol. I will look these up in my big reference book with Ives to be sure, though. I am no expert, but I do have references to check. :)

Trust me AMC,those are Marx 3/16 scale trains. Made in the late prewar, early postwar period. The dimentions of the metal freight cars are about the same as American Flyer S gauge trains. Marx really did a nice job with these cars, but injection molded plastic cars were the death of these fine models.
Try this site. www.marxtin.com From the looks of the sheet metal locomotive,I'd say you have a prewar set, postwar sets have the die cast 999 locos, with a solid pilot. Carl T.

Yup, you're right, it's a Marlines set, has a MarX logo on the tender, and Marlines on one of the cars. The look is SO different, they just don't look like Marx at all, compared to the 6 inch cars I have many of now. So this is actually more of an S gauge scale than O gauge?

my custom Roundhouse SSW set I got on christmas!! The 4-4-2 had some wiring issues but it's all fixed now! The seller poorly packaged it and many detail parts off it fell off Going to the train store tommorow with my $250 christmas money to get a few engines and some ZAP to put the detail parts back on. Other than that everything else was flawless!! Couldn't be happier for a $50 ebay find!!

This is my SOTW:
It was a custom blue (w/ red stripes) set of La Belle wood passenger cars that were custom painted and detailed. They came with a large collection of things I purchased a while back. They all have fully detailed interiors. They even came with a Best Of Show (or something like that) ribbon from some mid-western (NMRA?) train show competition. The ribbon is still in the box somewhere:

I have 20/700+ vision in both eyes. My eyes are horrible. I want LASIK!
I may have platforms Erich! I have a bunch laying around. If you have a picture of what you need, let me know.
