Do like that Ford T-T there Ben! Great price. My AOTW is the American Flyer coal loader made for the Auto-Rama series, but, similar to the HO train line up:

my contribution
this was, in a previous life the tyco "grain elevator"
when I got it, it was in sad shape, no backplate for the conveyor, no belt and the gears to the crank were split.
replaced the belt with the lionel 397 coal belt (trimmed) painted it, then with some wild yankee ingenuity (a brass tube and an old hex bit) I hooked the main belt drive to a cheap Sears powerdriver,
now my rock quarry loads rocks (pea gravel)destined for the aggregate plant in the town of Allendale
oh and the deflector? thats parts from a Tyco bulkhead flatcar and spare bridge parts that "sacrificed" themselves
just me Ray... and just because I have Tyco doesn't mean I am not a model railroader

They're rare PERIOD! My loader is HO scale Ben. Tyco did make a Clementine mine that was motorized. Never seen one and they must be the rarest of the rare Tyco accessories!

Buss, I would've been happy with a crank too, this setup works (it's direct drive, and the driver makes it go a good speed) unfortunately the crank gear was cracked and I had no idea on a replacement

ah ok I was curious & ANYTHING AF made in HO is rare especially since I got the C&O dump car I has & it goes to the unloading set Justin - Maybe someday I'll find that Ford tractor & the trailer & do it in GVL hehe But I'd rather find the Dodge tractor that Tyco made 1st

| Always hate when they put the price stickers on the box. No way those come off without damaging the box.

Use a hair dryer, it will soften the glue and make it easier to remove, no matter how old. Heat will make the glue soft again! Just be careful you don't burn the box. A heat gun will DEFINITELY remove it, but then you REALLY must be careful not to scorch the cardboard. But they can be removed if you take the time and have some patience with the labels ( and heat ). Steam will work, too, but you risk messing up the box cardboard and artwork if you're not careful. I prefer dry heat first.

My AOTW is a Hinde and Dauch trailer on flatcar. #450 and #452 on the box. One of the items I got in last week's auction buy off Ebay.

+1 for the hairdryer. I've saved several old boxes using this method. One of the boxes was a 1960's copy of the Game of Life that someone had wrapped packing tape around multiple times to hold it closed. It came off almost perfectly

This right here, is AWESOME! GREAT way to bring a loader back to life......I'll be using mine being its broken too, for a coal chute for a coal mine, my layout will be supporting!
This gives GREAT incentive to do such things!
Questio0n tho, when you have all the scenery done, whats your plans to hide or make a new drive system for the conveyor? Or do you plan to have your screw gun near by when you want to run the conveyor to load some hoppers?

Currently my plans are to put "cut rock" (AKA broken ceiling tile) around the drive system, including the driver, figure a twin coil switch machine and a momentary contact switch will work in engaging it.

Ray why not use a small 12 volt motor to power it with a flex tubing coupling and a toggle on your control panel?

Actually tried that first but the torque was too great for the tubing (that 397 belt is pretty tight) and my LHS didn't have any affordable motors that could apply 9 in lbs of the torque I was measuring. I had the driver and the rod already so I prefer to go with what I have in the junk box before I go blow my cash, if it works, then I can improve on that, and its cheaper for me on the long run.
The driver puts out 11 in lbs of torque which is great for the belt operation, but none of my household jobs, the rod was a leftover from another job, and the bit came from a kit that has no use for me (the bit, not the kit) got the hopper from a swapmeet for a buck, so all in all I spent maybe $8 (belt was 7) to get it running, which to me is beyond great, goes to show that the "junk box" at the swap meets can be gold

Ray, Not bad! I was just thinking that it be a bit difficult to hide that driver for one, and then to make it work, from your control panel.......I tell yeah tho, I got a 18 volt DC motor from a Dewalt drill that fell and bent the chuck shaft, and the motor, is GREAT, for what you got going on there....
Interested, PM me, we'll work something out on it!

Here are some "accessories" I added to my stations yesterday.
The station on my mainline received a new baggage cart with a fresh paint job:

My rural station received a pair of benches (which I shortened the legs on and then painted), as well as a new baggage cart:

Nothing major, but every little bit helps add to the tiny atmosphere
