I went to the local RR Club flea market last Saturday and found a pair of bargains:
A very slightly used (or not at all) Athearn S-12 in Santa Fe colors with dual flywheels for ONLY $ 5.00 !!!!! It was just sitting on a vendor's table all by itself- no one was even nearby. I say slightly used or not at all, as the railings and stanchions were in the box- the stanchions and end rails in an envelope.

This one my lovely and talented daughter will "give" me for Christmas!
I then came across an unusual car- an Athearn BB kit of an SP Overnite Box Car- all black, with metal wheels, to boot! This one I weighted and built over the weekend and it really stands out in the inventory!
!
My allowance was pretty limited, so I got a replenishment of Intermountain 33" insilated wheels for my freight car conversion project (100 wheels for $ 50.00).
That's Christmas cheer enough for me!

Ron, Ya can't beat a 5 dollar Athearn, POWERED with a stick! (and yes, it does, look unused), or very little! And then, the box car........ I must say, that is an interesting car, to say the least!
