Starting off this week's LOTW, I'm letting off a "little" steam here, and turning blue in the process. This little guy came to me this past week from Ebay, been watching for the right bargain, this one is missing a front truck on the tender, otherwise in fair shape. Haven't tried it on the power track yet.

Another nonsensical piece of equipment, but fun to look at.

I picked up this Tyco clear shell F unit a few weeks ago, missing the Tyco stickers on each side. It'll go well with the dual motor Mantua I got on eBay a while back.

Not HO scale, but still neat none the less. Dating from ~1929 or earlier a BOUCHER 2500 4-6-2 PACIFIC STEAM LOCOMOTIVE:

I have not purchased it "yet" but I plan to. I need to give the guy a price. I had never seen one before until now. I contacted a few Ives & tin plate historians that told me the value of this piece in it's current condition is ~$1000 - $1500 and is basically food for parts, but since it is in it's original paint, it could be cleaned up as it is if you have another one to supply the missing parts. Complete, original and in good condition they are worth ~$5,000 or more!

I've got another submission Because I won this very nice Roundhouse custom SSW set of ebay last night! Go to set of the week to see it in depth! The engine leading it is a Roundhouse 4-4-2 Custom lettered with auxilary tender. Sadly I have to wait because it's a christmas gift...

Hyde, They resemble the B&O A-3, greatly...... closer look to it the only part that the B&O's didn't have was the angled sheet just above the boiler walk......what looks to be part of the boiler walk support.....Other then that, its pretty close the same thing! Besides that its also coal fired! And for the B&O the older ones would have the same headlight, newer ones had a more modern headlight.
The Mantua 4-4-2 was relatively close to the B&O's A-3 as well!

Here are my two AHM - Mehano A3's. The B&O has been retrofitted with a low speed can, and runs as well as any IHC steamer.

The prototype was Pennsy, but close enough for government work. Jerry, your crosshead & mainrod are on inside-out.

Love that, Shay. I have one that I remotored and I recently got the newer tender for it, but unfortunately without the booster.
Btw, your crew must be pretty jumpy with that rail gun aimed at them. Trying to keep them in line?

I just couldn't do it without the booster, I've owned two previous ones and, like a Camaro without mag wheels, it just don't look right.
That railgun is as cool in the flesh as I thought it would be, just a massive piece without overpowering the rest of my fleet...

Walking around a show last week. Found another "If I ever see this, it comes home, no exceptions". Thankfully I got a good deal on it.
Old Athearn 0-4-2. Runs decent, probably needs a good tune up. Love the look of it though!

I went to a shop in Rockville Centre NY, and the guy had a shell for one of those in his parts box. If I find the mechanism in the box, where is a good start for haggling?

It was a surprise gift from an online friend...a 1975 Cox, the first ones made. They track great and came with metal wheel sets. The paint and detail are much better than the later AHM and Model Power versions, and both were made from the same Cox mold.

I been thinking guys, I may put that Big Boy on the trade block! I'd like to get a decent, same era Rivarossi Cab Forwards out of it as I have absolutely, no use for a Big Boy in my collection, BUT a Cab Forwards, on the other hand, is a backwards, "Yellowstone" so.........
