Vendor at the York PA Toy Show had an eclectic collection of stuff to sell, he had Lionel, AF, Marx, and HO, as well as non-train stuff. I bought a big lot of Marx O gauge for $50, and he had this nice "set" of all silver passenger train, I THINK it's Penn Line, could be wrong. All dummy engines. $25 for the whole set. Will be a perfect set to customize, as it's clean of all roadnames. Could be the diesel Coors Lite express, or the R.J. Reynolds express ( aluminium ). But for the price and condition, I couldn't pass up this nice set.

Nice passenger sets guys. I like those dome cars Jerry, and the royal blue looks good on those heavyweights Frank. I wish observations still had open platforms.
Last week I posted my Silver Streak set from Christmas '79. This week, Christmas 1980:
This set is original and complete except for the box lid, which disappeared shortly after I got it. I always thought of this set as a companion piece to the Silver Streak set, you know, silver and gold.

And here is the paperwork, including the "OOPS" sheet:

Listed in 1962 as the Denver Limited and caked in a half century of dirt, this Tyco Rio Grande streamliner is the latest addition to my roster.

Thanks Mike! This seems to be one of the harder sets to find so I'm pretty happy. It should look good once cleaned up

Thanks! It all just looks like surface dirt to me...the tops smell like tobacco so I'm hoping there's no staining. Otherwise a quick scrub and they should be good to go

I hate to say it but it looks good dirty You could say that its getting filthy cause of poor maintenace & low ridership Could look good if its cleaned up Did the locos have the Rio Grande logos removed or what? IF I had this I'd put them back on

They do look good dirty, but I like my Tyco's shiny :P. As for the engines, I'm not sure what happened to the decals. The engines need a lot of work...I haven't decided how far I want to go with them yet

Nice score, MnT, I have those same two engines, I got mine through a Craigslist score last year. Ebay auction valued around $100 each from what I've seen. Maybe one day I'll run across the passenger cars, too. Awesome!

Frank, I just noticed you bought that set. I was talking to the seller about it. He was the same guy that sold the Riv 2-10-2 for $25.
