Hi everybody. Thought I'd drop by and check this place out again. A lot has changed lately for me. Before I go on, I realize that I "shot my mouth off" a few times in the past. I was frustrated at a lot of things. There were a lot of good folks on here and I probably p&^*%d a few of them off. Sorry.
Back to trains...my entire layout is gone! Actually not gone, but boxed up. I moved to my grandparent's old house, which is basically my dream house, last summer. I had to tear everything down. I left the benchwork behind in the old garage.
As much as I love this house, I don't have a place for a layout right now. I have an awesome upstairs room, but I know that in a couple years my girls are going to move up there. There's another unfinished storage room upstairs, but it's completely crammed full of boxes of "stuff" that I "collected" over the years. My only hope is that we're planning to build a new garage next summer. I may have room in there.
So right now, I only run holiday Lionel layouts, and my HO stuff is boxed up or displayed on shelves. I've been short on cash, so I haven't gone to many of the train shows or garage sales that I used to frequent...but on the rare occasions when I do, I'm focusing on buying unbuilt blue box kits because I miss building them.
That's all for now. I'm going to try to find time to check out the forum more often again and maybe participate more. Right now I see that I have 1264 active topics since I last visited...that' s a lot to read!
Nice to see the site is still here. I miss the hobby and the conversation on here, but I know that in a couple years I'll be completely better off.

Welcome back! I waited 35 years for my space to open up so it could be worse. Keep us updated - we love seeing holiday trains too!

Hang in there B77, houses are a pain yet rewarding for the time you put into them. If you like building models that can be done on a workbench in a garage, a kitchen table, or a old desk from a yard sale. Maybe when things with the house calm down look around and see if there are any local HO clubs you can take your stuff too and run it? I'm like you I haven't been around for awhile. My house and other hobbies usually make me disappear for awhile during the spring & summer, but I always try to come back its a good time on here
