Just gone done rolling my custom Christmas train the last 2 days at the 45th Southern Christmas show in Charlotte NC - The show runs till the end of Nov 18th 2012 - but i can't be there everyday as have to pay to park - 7 per day -get free admission - but it can be an expense if done every day. I enjoy doing it -but it is tiresome when thousands come through daily which is why the train layout is staffed by many everyday. A schedule is posted to let those working know who is coming in - some stay all day -as i did for 2 days - which is 9am to 10 pm - others volunteer for 4hr shifts. I do enjoy it though as do the others. My train ran non stop both days from open to close. No one is paid to come in and staff layout - it is all volunteer. I will be at another Public Christmas venue in my area coming up as by request to run my train on a layout for visitors

Is that the glitter covered train that you build over a year ago? I like how different that looks. How did you power those lights? Are they battery powered?
My brother made non-railroading displays using a $5.00 CVS battery powered light set. Can be set to blink or stay on steady. As it is LED, it runs for days, and can make almost anything more festive

I built this train in the fall of 09 - put LED lights on it in fall of 2011. Yes -they are battery powered -2 AA'a - I ran lithium Energizer batteries this last round - not cheap but worth the money and they will still burn bright after over 20 hrs of useEdited by - Brianstyco on November 11 2012 9:03:34 PM
