At my favorite train store I got to, Roundhouse Trains, in North Hollywood California, they have a roundhouse EMD-40 John Deere Critter! I know the critters are rare as it is but how rare and what's the value of this rarer John Deere version?? I would love to buy it and next time I visit I'll take a picture, it's NIB. Thanks!

I suspect the J Deeres are rarer due to licensing, etc. They're hard to find, I have two, a black undec model, and a black and white unit. One has been DCC'ed, the other has been started by reversing the incorrect diode orientation inside ( Roundhouse made an error, if you try to DCC it, the diodes for the lights are in backwards, if you try to turn them on, you'll fry your Decoder , they need to be turned around ( 4 of them )). I've paid 24 and 30 for mine, I've seen them sell on Ebay for 60+ . If it's reasonably priced, snag it if you like it.

$75 isn't to much, i'd say about all it's worth, being the regular ones which are rare go for $60 as said above, I see no issue that a rarer john deere couldn't go for a little higher and yeah the gold chessie will surely catch Johns eye
