Hi ALL!
I have a 2019 Loco, with steam that does run, but it doesn't go anywhere because the drive wheel is spinning. You can sort of pinch it together with your fingers, it might rotate a full revolution, then it just spins. Can this be "easily" repaired ??
Many Thanks, TycoTed

Sounds to me like it is a Bachmann product. 2019 is the road number for a 2-8-0 Consolidation of theirs. If this is the case, it is not easily fixed, if it can be fixed at all. It has a split plastic gear which also acts as the spacer between the Fireman's side and the Engineer's side drivers. There are no aftermarket replacement parts for this that I know of. The valve gear are not easily removed either. The locomotive's value also renders it not worth the investment of the time required to fix it.

i usually put Bachmann engines with this affliction in the junk heap and sell them off in one giant lot.

Otherwise they are great looking engines that sit nicely in the yard.

Here's how to fix these:

Note you can buy nylon spacers to fit this at Lowe's.
