| I like it too My fave thing about UK railways is the Level Crossings Always did like those gate crossings

The attention to detail on that layout is amazing!
The level crossings is easy..... You have to build up the road to meet the roadbed and you'll have a "level" railroad crossing! Even if it means you take some sort of scrap wood and cut it to 1/4 inch thick, to lay down along the sides of where the road will be, and if cut thin enough can be bent to go with the flow of the road....Then fill in, or add a "top" to it and bevel the edges to make a ditch on either side, whatever you want for the landscape. BUT, the road, doesn't have to fall away from the railroad crossings! It all comes down to how much work you want to do to make it work!
