Well i dont generally report much news about my layout on here being most goes on my facebook page and youtube channel, but lately my shops have been all hustle and bustle. Unexpectedly 4 of my main SCVR engines came down with mechanical failures . Slowly i've been bringing them back to life. But besides working on those 4, i've had a lot of regular maintenance to do on my engines. My long time favorite and commonly talked on here, my Mantua 0-4-0 shifter SCVR #5 was in need of a boiler repaint being it was last painted in 2010 and it sat uncovered for nearly 1 1/2 years so it had faded plus the newly rebuilt tender was shiny so they needed to match. Took everything off the boiler, repainted it and put it all back together. While i was at it i resprayed the tender too, now its a shinier locomotive! Also the overhaul of my first ever locomotive, a 1993 IHC 2-6-0 which was part of the Zenith Limited set, has been my main project. never had any problems before but then on what was to be her last run on my current layout turned into her last run for months! Somehow the entire engine locked up, well mainly the running gear. Its completely stripped and no gears are stipped or cracked so the only problem would be the motor. The running gear has been repaired and is OK for operation. The boiler jacket was painted shiny black while her smokebox is still silver. Her footboards and cab were also painted black so it will be an official SCVR loco when it leaves the shop. The frame is my main focus now that the boiler is finished, it will be repainted soon as well them repairs on the motor can be done. Lastly my Mantua 2-8-2 Camelback got her tender trucks repainted, well just the outside. They were more a maroon color so they look better shiny black! Please enjoy the following photos of the work.

here's #5 after her boiler was reassembled
here's SCVR #7809s newly painted and completed boiler!
1608s tender trucks painted, wheels cleaned
and here is 1608 reassembled
