Well guys, I've been posting pictures of the custom work, I do. and this one is no exception.
I want to build the Western Maryland's HUGE I-2, 2-10-0 Decapod, to be another one to my Western Maryland fleet, and this is one only can be gotten in brass currently.

This shows the Mantua boiler sitting on the Bowser Frame.

This one shows the inside rear of the boiler near the cab area and the factory Bowser motor inside the Mantua boiler.
The reason I choose to go this route is that the Mantua boiler here is really close to the actual Western Maryland boiler used on their I-2's. The only problem to be remedied, is the location of the sand dome, and the boiler check valve thats all cast on detail. I will cut these parts out in one solid chunk, and flip it around, as the sand dome needs to be alot closer to the smokebox, then it is. The boiler diameter is actually dead on for the building diagrams I have to make this. I will also be making my own cab for this locomotive as the Bowser, AND Mantua cabs aren't even close to what it needs!
I will be adding a serious amount of brass details to this, alot like that seen on my Mantua 4-6-2, thats ain blue paint, to become a B&O P-7e, #5314.
Then with some research, the tender, the actual Bowser tender is almost dead on as well! (AND its a Pennsy tender!) As the Western Maryland tender was 51 feet long, and so is the Bowser tender!

I only will have to cut the top section off the coal bunker top that angles in, to make it straight up and down with no angle, and epoxy it in place, fill cracks and gaps and then it would be ready for paint! I plan to remove/fill in the dog house area as well before painting as they didn't have dog houses on their tenders such as Pennsy did.
More to come as work progresses on it!

Thanks guys! I'm always seeming to want or make things that can only be gotten in brass, or not at all, And sadly I got a lot better things to do with the money that this type loco costs in brass, Its like $1800.00 in brass! AND hard to find.,....
But anyway, this is one of those that isn't difficult to make, really, it is alittle work on the brass details but, worth it.
Up to this point, it looks really good with very little effort to these pictures you see here. (Sadly, I haven't worked on it to much), BUT was worth posting pictures as it progresses!
As I look at these pictures, I think I may have to remove the "box" that sits atop the boiler, just in front of the cab, as that is the steam turret protective cover, I'm not sure the Western Maryland had them on these locomotives.....just thinking out loud....
This is what the whole locomotive will look like when I'm finished:
