Guys,
Well finally got one of them done (I plan to make 2 of these!) CSX F40PH2's as CSX calls them.....

This one, is made from a Walthers "Train Line" model, that came to me in a trade. No motor, or internals except for trucks and worm gears these were all there. But, NO drive train to the trucks worms....

So, I fitted an Athearn flat can motor to the Walthers frame, with one flywheel removed, for clearance, and custom made drive shaft work to go from the Athearn motor and single flywheel to the Walthers worm gear shafts.

Then, super detailed the whole shell....

A detailed shot as it sits in my display case:

MY 600th posting!

ENJOY!

Thanks NC.......... I enjoy making the postings to say the least.....

The loco...... if you look close to the top of the cab in the close up, you'll see the read "mars" type light.... just below the horns, and between the numberboards......that works whether the loco is running forward, or reverse, unlike the headlights down on the cowl nose of the loco which go out when in reverse.

I run DC cab control, and all of my locomotives have working YTR (my shop) built/designed directional head and tail lights when ever possible! Needless to say, I got more of them to make for a few loco's that I have recently posted pictures of!

Also alot of my locomotives have custom made (in my shop, yet again) handrailing, and or grab irons to make them fit for whatever section of the locomotive they are going to be on! ONLY the rear most grab irons, and those you see on the side of the nose are factory detail parts, those are those from Tichy, 100 per pack for I think $3.50......The rest of the handrailing is custom made from .015 thick music wire, or in the curved pieces, .015 thick brass wire, for easy bending/curving.
