Wow, that mechanical abortion competes with the Santa Fe's mallets for distinction as the the worlds worst steam locomotive design.

That 4-14-4 was HUGE! It reminds me of the Union Pacific's "Bald Face 9's" The 4-12-2's.....Even tho, I'm a B&O modeler......I'd LOVE to have one of the HO scale MTH 4-12-2's!
I love how they made this sound!

Santa Fe tried out a 2-10-10-2. I read its review in a Classic Toy Trains magazine. Baldwin basically gave Santa fe 2-10-0 running gear and chassis. bad idea, so Santa Fe turned the beasts back into 2-10-0's. I would love a 4-12-2 myself John! MTH did make a option for the frame where its rigid or pivots just slighty.

Justin, Yeah, but WAY over priced unless I become rich in the near future, I won't have one.....
But, I have to say, they are nice! Maybe someday, you know I used to think that when I wanted a BRASS B&O EM-1, 2-8-8-4, and I kept optomistic on it and it came along... so maybe, just maybe, a 4-12-2 might come along too! here's to keeping open minded!

Talk about ugly! It would be hilarious to have a whole "serious" model railroad powered by ridiculous experimental engines like these. A rule in operations would be to roll a die to see if you derail, break down, or blow up every time you move the train.
