While hitting Target up for some more $2.50 colored trays for my HO trains in the $1 section, I of course went back to check on diecast cars and trucks in Toys. After going up and down the aisle twice,I then spotted these new trains next to the Mario kart diecasts. Hmm. Not bad looking, more realistic than Tomy or Hotwheels, still toyish, maybe TT scale, smaller than HO for sure. I bought a pair of freight cars, $4.99. Gonna see how close to TT they really are, maybe I can convert them to actual real scale rail use. Anyway, here's a few pictures of them I took with my new Iphone. Sorry they're not all crystal clear.

Those are pretty cool looking. It's like a step below model trains, but a step above Thomas trains. Maybe they'll drum up more interest in the model train hobby

The REAL headline here is that there are trains in a major retailer's toy aisles!
I cannot recall when I last saw any type of train ( other than Thomas toys and the wooden Brio toys for very young children) on sale at any store. I have been thru the toy aisles at WalMart, Toys R Us (are they still in business somewhere), and Target over the years when my daughter was young and more recently, with nieces and nephews to buy gifts for, but trains have been absent.

Does this herald some recognition that trains are toy-worthy once again???

blackstone1, do you know if the Power Trains can run on Tomy Plarail or Trackmaster track? Or vice versa?
