I have loved model trains and trains in general since I was a kid. 34 years old now and I finally picked one up off of Craigslist. I don't have much money so I had to wait until one was very cheap. In the ad it said that it didn't work but I set up a 3 foot diameter track last night and got it to go about a 1/4 way around. So it kind of works. :) I will be checking out the forum to see if there is anyway to fix it.
Glad to be apart of this community!
Have a good one everybody

| I don't have the excact model but it is a TycoScene I know for sure. It has all the paperwork that came with it I think. Not all the pieces for the set up however. I am at work right now but can post it when at home. Thanks!

Welcome! Model trains and the love for trains has been in my family ever since my dad collected old tycos as a kid and now i have them. My earliest memory is my 2nd birthday in my garage watching are old 4x4 circle layout. Had my cake and everything in there while my brother who was 6 at the time was running them. I'm only 16 but i have a huge collection around 100 locos i believe. If you had more details on your engine it'd be easy to diagnose it. Could just need regular maintenance, ie cleaning and lubing.
I buy, repair, and collect http://scvr.weebly.com/ http://seyboldlocomotiveworks.weebly.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDeputation?feature=watch Hyde.

| Thanks everybody. I will definitely post the specs of what I have this evening. Pictures even if that is possible or needed. When I was growing up I lived by a Soo Line Depot in Dresser, WI and the tracks ran behind the small woods behind our house. My older neighbor also had a whole set up in his basement that I would be able to check out when he baby sat us once in a great while. I have been hooked ever since!

Here is the power supply I have and the terminal. The two connections on the terminal are different. It looks like the one is missing a piece on the outer connector that has the smaller hole in it that would hold the wire in?
Thought?
Thanks again everybody!
*I think I uploaded the pictures correctly*

Yes, the pictures uploaded fine. Yes, you are missing a piece on the terminal track. Some tight wrapping with the wire should be fine. Check your track connections, if they pull apart easily, they should be crimped * carefully # with pliers to make a tight connection, you should not be able to slide them apart on a slick surface with one finger on each piece of track. TIGHT connections equals great power transfer. Also check the metal wheels on the locomotive to make sure they're not gunked up with crud. Another major problem with non-running or jumpy engines. You said you had a TycoScene train, do you have the mat that track lays on to add scenery too? That's a hard piece to find nowadays. Post pics of your train and rolling stock too when you get a chance. We ALL like pictures on here.

Back in 1955 my first HO loco was a Globe "Dummy" F7A in Santa Fe livery. I powered it with a Lindsay frame and 4-wheel power truck.
A few Mantua metal side box cars soon joined the F7A on my two 3' sections of track that I placed over the fireplace so I could admire them.
A Mantua 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 were added to fleet and I was hooked. I think the Mantua locos were called the Shifter and Booster.
