Hi All,

I was sitting around checking out some of the new ( to me ) items I got last week and I noticed that the Tyco and Lionel flat cars are almost identical. I was just wondering if they where made by the same Mfr? The green flat is Tyco and the yellow is Lionel.

They do indeed look very similar. I think Bachmann and others have near-clones of this car as well.

One difference I do note in your photos, is that the Tyco car has more lugs for mounting the deck to the frame. I can only see a pair of lugs on the Lionel, whereas I see at least 6 on the Tyco.

The brake piston looks "slightly" different to me, but that may be glare in the photos.
