Posting just for those that may be curious as to scale size difference in using vehicles on your layouts. I have used both scales and others such as Pocket vehicles which vary widely in scale but most are close enough for HO use. TO each his own. If you were photographing a rear view shot - you could use the 1/64 vehicle to front and the 1/87 to the back to achieve an illusional effect of distance. The left vehicle is a new 2012 casting by Johnny Lightning - Chevy citation -and the Camaro on right is from Malibu - just a note - this Johhny Lightning casting is different than the older models - they were bought out earlier this year by TOMY - The bottoms use to be die cast -now they are plastic -

How does that Camaro compare with the Model Power HO Camaro, like the one in this lash-up picture? The Gremlin is a "Wild Cherries" model, did they become Model Power products?
You can also see the Hot Wheels Porsche is a bit big.
I have a soft spot for the Citation and have several of the LL versions like the Tyco Camaros and AMXs.

I've never seen two side by side like that before. It's amazing how much of a difference there is . Thanks for posting!

Brian got me thinking about how close in size, etc., these HO autos were to each other. These all came from my layout and range form toy-like to highly realistic.
