Ken and Shay I like both of those and need to keep my eyes open. Pretty and nostalgic respectively.

Very handsome. I have one but never put the handrails on cause I thought PRR just use the one on the hood.

Nice! I actually saw some of these units up close during the 80's. I know that athearn had a deal with the Original Whistle Stop to sell these beauties. I frequent the Whistle Stop and the guys there told me the story. I picked one up earlier this year in excellent condition.

Are these Olympic SDs hard to find? I think according to the Athearn Collector's Guide the Olympic SD was a special commissioned paint job for one hobby shop.

Here is my LOTW:
It is a Pre-WWII Mantua Reading 4-6-2 Pacific class Steam locomotive. Purchased tonight on eBay. It has the solid cast-brass boiler. Had I not bid, it would have sold for ~$56.
Geese.... I hope the low price was because my snipe went off in the middle of the fireworks show and no one was watching. These low prices do not make me feel good about the current market prices!

Geez Cheez, one of them look familiar! Been across half the country... and the Frosted Miniwheats boxes been across twice . Too bad they don't make the Strawberry flavour. Vanilla, either... . Maple is a good second choice... I bet most, if not all, readers don't know what I'm talking about... oop's, I was ranting again...
And now, my contribution... Top L-R 3 Docksides: AHM, RivaRossi, Varney, RivaRossi Saddletank AHM zips quite a bit, RivaRossi glides nicely with full valve gear, Varney zips around well after some lubing... and I bought it for $5.00! Bottom R-L: Lionel Athearn 1st run, Athearn 2nd run, Athearn last run (previously owned by someone from this forum who I haven't seen for a while.) The red Hustler is such a rocket! Yellow is okay, Silver came with loop couplers and putts a bit, Blue rattles but runs nicely. /tyco/forum/uploaded/Zebrails/20120705052936_Hustlers-And-Tanks-2.jpg

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

My LOTW is this Tyco GG1 in Pennsy colors. Was going through my club's donation boxes from a guy's estate, and found this one. Had to come home with me.

Um, I think I sent you the loco that had the tab missing from the back centre truck assembly. I've forgotten if the one I sent you had hand railing. And the Miniwheats box... uh, I might still have remnants of it. I've moved six times since 2006... holy crap, that was six years ago... I started going through all my belongings back in February... perhaps I may find that box. I will let you know as soon as I find it.
I'm glad you're doing well.

Hello Steve,
Without a listing number or link, it is nearly impossible to tell which one you purchased??? If it was this E unit pair:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item43b051cd37&item=290720959799&nma=true&pt=Model_RR_Trains&rt=nc&si=eEle%252Bn3rVi4Ai0vMn%252BfPpWXLHI0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Then yes, I think you got a pretty good price. I paid ~ that much last night for a brass DL109 a-unit. Then again, the DL109s are harder to come by.

better late then never for me
here's my newest buy, a rare MDC roundhouse 2-8-0 kit, the first 2 days i had it I built the tender and assembled the frame. The drive wheels are under the frame, but do to issues with the crosshead on the drive rod the engine is yet to be completed so now her boiler sits on a flatcar in my shop awaiting the remaining work. The tender is also in the shop, the frame with wheels is outside
I buy, repair, and collect http://scvr.weebly.com/ http://seyboldlocomotiveworks.weebly.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/TheDeputation?feature=watch Hyde.
