well my david lee's circus 2-8-0 kit arrived in 2 days!! Mainly because it was in Los angeles and thats not even an hour away anyways, the second i got it I went right to work! Figuring out what parts needed paint and started painting already! So far i've painted the cylinders, gear plate, main rods, drive rods, running gear allignment bar, and the pilot wheel assembly!! Also i completely finished the tender!! So far its looking great!
here's the tender, the trucks look good but seem kinda small for a big oil tender
here's the cylinders and running gear alligner with new black paint! Lucky for me the drive wheels are already black so that saves a LOT of time The locomotive has a nice motor! Almost a can motor but not exactly.

Thanks! I've already made more progress today. Completly assembled the frame with the cylinders, built the valve guides, attached the running gear yoke bar, built the pilot wheel assembly and attached it, attatched all the rods and got the boiler primed. Today all major work will be completed such as painting the boiler and assembling all appliances. Assembling the idler gear assembly and attaching it to the frame, installing the motor and testing it without the boiler on so just the frame and tender running. If she runs well then the boiler will be reinstalled then i have to tweek the running gear a little bit.

Did you get the drivers turning?

Btw, I don't think the cab goes on the back of the tender.

Yes, not rolling great but better than before! I'm having trouble assembling the crosshead it makes no sense how to do it in the diagram but I think it's fine. Right now the frame is fully completed!! The idler gear is assembled and the motor is attached to it. It's all screwed down to the frame. The boilers paint is about dry by now so I'll be assembling that later today. The drive wheels I might wait on till tommorow if the crossheads aren't functioning right.
