I have a MAntua 2-8-2 mikado that slips going fwd but runs fine in reverse.
Im thinkin its the worm gear...anyone have or have had this similar problem?
Any help appreciated

Either the worm or worm gear could be cracked, but I've never seen it on those gears. Are you sure the motor is fully seated and the mounting screw is tight?

removed motor...installed PROPER screw...did an allignment....going to test run again...

Also be sure the axle gear isn't stripped, which will happen if it's allowed to slip.

had it movin for a while but now the brushes are shot...
